Fraser Surrey Docks is a multi-purpose terminal, with six berths accommodating ships with a draft up to 11.7 meters. Our terminal has four container cranes and 30,654 square meters of covered storage with considerable potential for expansion. It is supported by advanced intermodal freight services and our 10,000 feet of track within the Fraser Surrey Docks yard. We are also in close proximity to two main highway routes that are located away from heavy city traffic.

Rail Car Handling Facilities

There are no restrictions for any railway to access Fraser Surrey Docks. The terminal is seen as an attractive option for railways because of the on site holding tracks and the Fraser Surrey Docks operated switching crews and locomotive. The terminal has the ability to hold up to 18,000 feet of railcars in the holding tracks. The holding tracks allow for quick placement of rail cars into the 9,000 feet of on dock working track. In addition, Berth 9 has tracks that run right along the berth face that will allow Fraser Surrey Docks to perform direct transfer to rail car using ship’s gear or mobile cranes

All pulp and paper warehouses at Fraser Surrey Docks have rail car platforms that are enclosed to protect pulp and paper products from weather and other contamination.

Shed numbers One and Two have enclosed platforms that can each accommodate the handling of eighteen one hundred metric ton cars (3,600 metric ton.) during a day shift.

Shed Six section "A" is designed with internal rail track and a platform to accommodate the handling of eighteen one hundred metric ton cars (1,800 metric ton.) in a day shift.

Truck Transfer Facilities

Shed Two includes a covered truck bay that can accommodate three trucks simultaneously. This provides the capacity to handle thirty trucks during a day shift or the equivalent of over 7,500 truck loads per year. The design of Shed Six already includes a provision for additional truck handling capacity which can be activated when required.

Warehouse and Transfer Facilities

The pulp and paper warehouses at Fraser Surrey Docks are designed to meet the highest standards for accommodating wood pulp and paper without damaging or contaminating the products. All pulp and paper sheds are fully enclosed with walls and doors to prevent contamination from dust, weather or animals. These sheds are equipped with sprinklers and have polished concrete floors that are constantly kept clean by regular work force employees operating cleaning machines that both sweep and wash.
