Application Specialist

Accountabilities:
- Support, troubleshoot and administer various integrated applications
- Train end users on how to use the various types of software programs efficiently and effectively
- Develop custom enhancements on our in-house systems
- Participate in various development projects
- Provide after-hours and weekend on call support
- Assist with desktop support and infrastructure areas as required
- Assist with hardware/software evaluation as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in computer science or technical diploma in a related field
- Experience with MS SQL Server – TSQL (queries, stored procedures), database management, understanding of relational database
- Experience with Visual Studio .NET – C#, client/server, datagrids
- Experience with XML and web services
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A positive "can-do" attitude on customer service
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with Crystal Reports 11 – reports from MS SQL databases using stored procedures
- Experience working with Oracle database
- Experience within the terminal industry
- Experience working in or amongst a heavily unionized environment
